The Department believes that successful graduate training requires close collaboration between a student and research director on a research project that is of interest to both. Applicants are therefore encouraged (though not required) to correspond directly with faculty members working in areas of interest to you. Our faculty are happy to provide applicants with reprints of recent publications and discuss the opportunities available in their research groups.
The McMaster Graduate Calendar is also an important source of information.
International students may enter Canada on student visas. Further information on how to obtain these visas may be requested from the nearest Canadian Consulate. We encourage students from outside Canada to read our page for International Students, found on the Graduate Student Handbook.
